Role of Information in Social Development of Bangladesh:
Social development is about improving the well-being of every individual in society so they can reach their full potential. The success of a society is linked to the well-being of each and every citizen. Agriculture: It contributes about 15 per-cent of the country’s GDP and employs around 40 per-cent of the total labor force. In this sector, need to more investment and guide them on how to cultivate the crops in a better way to use modern technology-based accessories.
Health: Information on healthcare has always been a major requirement of rural people. They need information on symptoms, causes, prevention, and treatment of various diseases.
Legal and Human Rights: The human rights situation in Bangladesh has always been under the ‘microscope’ of national and international media.
Education: A recent government survey showed that the illiteracy rate is 28 per-cent in the present time.
Markets and Finance: Rural finance in Bangladesh comprises formal and informal financial institutions, small and large, that provide small-scale financial services to the rural poor.
Disaster Management: Bangladesh experienced 17 highly damaging floods in the 20th century. Since independence in 1971, Bangladesh has seen floods of a vast magnitude and required external emergency assistance in 1974, 1984, 1987, 1988, 1998, and 2004.
Right to Information: The Bangladesh Parliament passed a much-awaited Right to Information (RTI) Act on 30 March 2009. This is a landmark event in the history of Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is one of the most populous and most under-developed countries in the world, Bangladesh desperately needs effective ways of freeing the vast majority of its people from the shackles of poverty. The foregoing analyses show the critical role which information and information-centered activities could play in the advancement of various socio-politico-economic sectors of Bangladesh.
